14th overall!!!!

JMS Austria placed 14th overall out of 40! So proud of this team, 9 people did the work of 25. The competition was tough and a 14th place first time international race is great.

We, once again, have experienced internet issues in Prague. I'll post pics as soon as I can!  Yesterday and today are sightseeing adventures.

Final race day

The final day of the race was rainy again in the morning. Thankfully the lunch break came right before we were to start endurance. It stopped raining during lunch and the track was dry when it was our time. Both JT and Jeff had great races. They race electric and combustion against each other which, in my opinion, is unfortunate as there are some very fast electric cars. I think we finished 11th in endurance. I am not sure they know where they finished overall. It was a great learning experience for the team and they received valuable feedback from some of the judges. I believe everyone was happy with the race. Obviously, it would have been better if they had finished in the top 3 but overall an awesome experience.

They are packing the crate now and I am working on my quest for washing some of the very smelly clothes that several of us have. I attempted to do it in Spielburg but only found a dry cleaner. The 'hotel' /dorm we are in has a washer but no dryer. I have finally found a 'waschsalon' and figured out the complicated feat of working the machines. As I sit here writing this I've helped 2 other people with figuring out the machine process that have come in to do their laundry...I don't feel as inept now as I did initially. I am sure if there were cameras with voice it would have been entertaining to hear me talk to myself and the machines!

Once the crate is packed and on it's way back to the US we will all head to Prague for the weekend! I am sure it will be a great time had by all now that the stress of the race and shipping the car back will be complete.

Day 3 - Acceleration, Skid Pad, Autocross

Other than the rain today was a good day and everyone seems pleased with the results. They place 10th in design, and completed autocross. Jordan and Hans drove skid pad and acceleration and Jeff and JT drove autocross today and endurance tomorrow. All the drivers have done a great job under the rainy conditions.

I had some memory card issues between after Jordan's skid pad run and had to borrow Tylers card. Once I get an upload complete I will add more pics from Hans', JT's and Jeff's races.

Tonight was taco dinner that included Chalice and I visiting 4 different grocery stores (one of them twice) and getting yelled at by the cashier at the last one. Many of them close at 7 pm here and we could't find everything we needed in one spot. We entered the last one at a couple minutes till 7 and each received a very lengthy tongue lashing in German about it being closing time. Neither one of us really paid attention, we HAD to get meat for dinner!  Everything except the lettuce, tomato, and cheese was a challenge. The meat (ground pork and beef combo) was perhaps the hardest. The first store we went to, that had it yesterday, was completely out of any type of ground meat today, and we took all they had at the second to the last store. It's an understatement to say we live large in the US.
